Staying for 4 nights to explore the historical sights of George Town was a fantastic choice. The vibrant atmosphere right outside the hotel, with bars and food stalls, added to the charm. The swimming pool was a refreshing escape after a hot day, and I particularly enjoyed the thoughtfully presented breakfast options, especially the bite-sized pastries. The room felt cozy and clean, which made coming back after a day of sightseeing from nearby attractions like the Pinang Peranakan Mansion and Fort Cornwallis truly delightful.

The position of the Yeng Keng Hotel in the middle of the unesco World heritage listed Georgetown in Penang could not be better. It is all happening right outside, yet it is restful and quiet inside the gates. Best of all, it even has a swimming pool. Bliss in that climate! Delightful staff, great food, beautiful surroundings. This place is a must if you are in the area.

Heritage charm with a touch of luxury
The historical architecture of the building adds a unique atmosphere, and the proximity to diverse dining options made exploring the local food scene easy. The staff stood out, going above and beyond to, even providing useful advice on nearby eateries. I wish the breakfast had a bit more variety to complement the overall experience.

All the services were impeccable, the room was great-sized and well-stocked with complimentary breakfast, bathrooms plus fantastic mattress. The pool was very clean, sumptuous breakfasts with special local dish on Saturdays, local cuisine plus local hawkers food. The location was marvellous - ease of access to The Camera Museum.

The cozy Courtyard Room was good, but the mattress was way too firm for me.

I almost thought this hotel was great until i found the beds to be absoluteley torture devices, who sleeps on wooden planks! On top of that, the coffee at breakfast was beyond terrible. I woudl ve been satisfied with even a slight compensation for these inconveniences, but i guess that idea was too luxurious for them.

The ambiance, customer service and breakfast were excellent. Staff members Martin and Ryan were very helpful with any requests and questions.
The bed was a bit short for a 6ft tall person. There were small ants in the room. The tv audio kept crackling.

The design of the hotel is wonderful. Room is clean. Bed is comfy. Wifi is free.
The room could be a bit bigger. But I am a solo traveller so it is fine with me.

We loved the charm of this heritage spot! It's just a stroll to the local food markets and easy to get to sights around George Town. The pool was also a nice touch for my kid!
My wife says that the breakfast could use more variety.

everything! --the hotel is perfect, a jewel: Baba Nyonya style building recently restored with a modernistic edge, cosy rooms decorated with great style and attention to details, very nice terrace in front of the hotel for breakfast or tea. I liked the common areas of the hotel that offered a different angle on the vintage furniture, the Chinese details or the tropical-style verandas on the upper floor. Staff is extremely friendly and efficient. Hotel is very clean and centrally located.

Excellent location. Superb service. Extremely hospitable! Just the wonders of luxury in the heart of the ancient town. A wonderful surprise!
Maybe the room was a tiny bit small, but that didn't matter so much because everything else was so great.
